During my employment with The European Capital of Culture in Aarhus, I developed and lead “O Space” – a contemporary art and video exhibition venue, which housed both daring gallery exhibitions as well as live events and gatherings.
The productions presented were:
- The video-installation “Manifesto”, by acclaimed artist Julian Rosefeldt.
- A video-installation and performance of Jasmina Cibic’s specially commissioned work “A Shining City on A Hill”.
- A mixed sculptural and video-installation, as part of ARoS’ citywide exhibition; “The Garden”.
- A mixed sculptural, video and performative installation by acclaimed musician Anohni; Future Feminism.
- The premiere of a video-installation by acclaimed artist and performer Mikhail Karikis’, with his “The Chalk Factory”.
- New Danish Modern; An exhibition by Design Denmark, showcasing danish furniture design.
- Big Little Film Festival; A film festival showcasing up and coming danish directors and film production teams.
- The premiere of Angelica Mesiti’s video-installation; Mother Tongue.
From the start, we sought out to accomplish setting up an efficient space, with a high capability of producing within extremely high international standards. The above exhibitions should show, that we more than succeeded in doing so – even being able to develop further on initial concepts and expectations, with several of the artists.
